Routine Maintenance

1. Check the hydraulic oil level

Every 6 months. About 0.3 litres of oil is used; the normal level sits roughly 5 mm below the top edge.

2. Bleeding the hydraulic pump

Push the control lever to its lowest position, then pump the handle up and down.

3. Regular inspection

Regularly inspect the points subject to wear and friction.

4. Lubrication

Apply engine oil or grease to moving and rubbing parts.

When the Forks Will Not Lift

1. 1Check around the truck for obstructions in the working area
2. 2Pump it empty — move the truck clear and pump up and down with no load to see if it operates normally
3. 3Check that the control lever is in its lowest position
4. 4Check the lever chain — it may be too tight and pressing on the oil valve
5. 5Check the hydraulic valve — it may be stuck in the pressed position
6. 6Check the oil level — a low level reduces lifting performance
7. 7Check for leaks — visible dripping may indicate a failed oil seal
8. 8Lubricate moving parts — grease or oil the wheels and moving components

Safety Guidance

1. 1Do not use the equipment before reading the instructions or being trained
2. 2Do not use it until trained — particularly on the wheels, lever, forks and level control
3. 3Do not use it on uneven ground
4. 4Keep all parts of the body clear of the truck while lifting, and never carry people
5. 5Wear gloves and safety shoes to protect against impact
6. 6Do not lift unstable loads that could topple
7. 7Do not exceed the rated capacity
8. 8Place the load at the centre of the forks, not at the tips
9. 9Make sure the fork length suits the pallet length
10. 10Lower the forks fully after use
11. 11Take extra care when using the equipment outside its intended purpose
